25There is a 9 ft elevation change between the top of the footing at the mechanical room addition and the adjacent grade (the road). The work requires us to demolish a portion of the existing retainaing wall and build a new retaining wall. OSHA regulations require that the bank be laid back or shored during constuciton to protect the workers from an open excavation. Is road closure an option or will you require that the bank be temorarily shored to keep the road open.?A temporary road closure is acceptable so the excavation can be properly laid back. The contractor would be repsonsible when taking this approach for road repairs.
26Curtainwall spec 084400 para 1.3.5.5 calls out an “opaque” U-factor of no greater than 0.29. Glazing spec 088100 para 2.2 calls out a U-factor of 0.4 or less for the insulated glass units. Drawing A003 thermal shielding table lists fixed glass windows as having a U-factor of 0.40. Is it correct to assume that the entire curtainwall system (glazing + framing) should have a U-factor of 0.40 or less, and glazing should be selected as required to meet this overall system thermal performance?Yes, assume U-factor of 0.40 or less, and glazing should be selected as required to meet this overall system thermal performance

85Question # 42 states: Sheet Q-120 is for the kitchen equipment. Are we to price this sheet only in Option 4? If not what is to be priced in Option 4? The designers response states: Q-120 and specifications spec 11 41 11 cover the kitchen equipment. With this being said I would have to assume that Q-120 and specification section 11 41 11 is to be priced in ABI # 4. However the designers response to question # 22 states that the freezers and coolers specified in section 11 41 11 is to be priced in the Base Bid. So which one of the designers responses is correct?**See RFI 75** - Highlighted above

95 These seem to be existing footings that need to be supported (underpinned). We see that there are minimum loads provided per foundation, however, we would need to know how many piles per foundation and the loads each pile needs to support.

If we can get the number of piles per foundation, the loads that each of the piles will have to support and a geotechnical report, we will be able to move forward. See Drawing S-110 for pier locations and loads requiring stabilization.
