About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for the load, assembly and packing of 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm full range practice cartridges. The solicitation seeks the load, assembly and packing of 60mm M769, 81mm M879A1 and 120mm M931 full range practice cartridges, which consist of hollow shell bodies that look identical to high explosive cartridges except for color. The practice cartridges utilize center vent tubes and practice fuzes to simulate the weight and signature of high explosive fills. Questions addressed the integrated master schedule requirements, timing of first article submissions, and whether manufacturing plan slides would count toward limits. Clarification was provided that the integrated master schedule should use an eight month timeframe for first article testing from contract award, and that diagrams and pictures in manufacturing plans would not count toward slide limits.

Question 21: For clarification, in section M3.1.1.2 it states “The risk of the delivery schedule will be assessed against a required FAT due date of eight (8) months after contract award”, but in response to question 7, the FAT report is due 180 days from the delivery order award. We are confused if the IMS should reference 180 days or 8 month time frame for FAT completion? Please clarify.

Question 22: When creating the IMS for the 120mm, should the IMS go from Contract award with First article being 180 days from delivery order award which will be no later than 10 days after contract award, or will the IMS be from contract award with delivery order being awarded in ordering option period 3?
Question 22: The IMS for the 120mm mortar will be from contract award with delivery order being awarded in ordering period 3.
Question 23: In Subfactor 3: Manufacturing Plan, will diagrams and pictures of the Process Map in the presentation count toward the total number of slides allowed?
Answer 23: In Subfactor 3: Manufacturing Plan, diagrams and pictures of the Process map and IMS sheets are not counted towards the total number of slides allowed.
