About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to solicitation 36C24825R0025 for the renovation of the Lake Nona Emergency Department and Observation Unit at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. The amendment extends the proposal due date to March 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST and provides responses to 107 contractor questions.
Key details from the Q&A include: Sciens Building Solutions is the fire alarm system manufacturer; Asset Security from Tampa and Protech are the security/access control vendors; Rauland Borg is the nurse call system vendor; Johnson Controls is the BMS system vendor. The contractor must provide independent commissioning, cleaning services (with VA performing terminal cleaning), and testing/lab services. Night work from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and weekends are permitted at no additional cost. The contractor and subcontractors must complete government background checks to receive contractor IDs. The VA will provide as-built drawings and existing roof warranty information. Buy American Act requirements cannot be waived. The VA clarified that specifications take precedence over drawings and confirmed this is a 100% outside air system with no return air components.
