1. The purpose of this memorandum is to document the salient characteristics required of the “Brand Name or Equal” products.
2. The following items are listed in the attached “Brand Name or Equal” spreadsheet and the documentation is as follows:
1) Window Shades Shadecloth by Mechoshade. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate product would need to match in material, color and openness percentage.
2) Acoustical Ceiling Tile and Grid by Armstrong and Hunter Douglas. Alternate tile needs to have similar appearance, profile, and composition, and meet or exceed the acoustic properties of the specified product.
3) Sheet Vinyl (SV-1, SV-2, SV-3, SV-4, SV-5) by Gerflor. These products were selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate materials would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Colors and patterns need to match those specified
4) Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT-1, LVT-2, LVT-3, LVT-4) by Mohawk Group. These products were selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate material would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Color and patterns need to match those specified.
5) Static Dissipative Tile (SDT-1) by Nora Systems. Alternate material would need to match in size, thickness, material, color, surface finish, pattern and ASTM/ ANSI ratings.
6) Rubber Treads (RT-1) by Nora Systems. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate material would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Color and patterns need to match those specified.
7) Wall Base (VB-1, VB-2, VB-3) by Johnsonite. These products were selected as part of a larger overall color palette. Alternate material would need to match in material, size, thickness, profile, and color.
8) Resilient Base (RB-1) by Johnsonite. This product was selected as part of a larger overall color palette. Alternate material would need to match in material, size, thickness, profile, and color.
9) Porcelain Tile (PCT-1, PCTB-1) by Daltile. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate material would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Color and patterns need to match those specified.
10) Quartz Surface (QS-1, QS-2) by Wilsonart, Corian. These products were selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match the color and proportions of the binder and aggregate and meet or exceed the specified characteristics for strength and stain resistance
11) High Pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL-1, HPDL-2) by Lab Designs. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Product is to be a high-pressure laminate, HGL Horizontal Grade. Alternate materials would need to match in performance, quality, pattern, color, texture, and species of wood grain (where applicable).
12) Stainless Steel Base (SSB-1) by Inpro. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match in material, thickness, size and finish.
13) Solid Surface (SS-1) by Corian. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match in color and meet or exceed the specified characteristics for strength and stain resistance.
14) Epoxy Resin (ER-1) by Intensa. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match in material, thickness, color, finish and performance characteristics.
15) Metal Casework (MC-1) by Midmark. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.
16) Crash-Rail (CR-1, CR-2) by CS Acrovyn. Alternate product needs to match material, color, finish, gauge and size.
17) Fiberglass-reinforced Plastic (FRP-1) by Inpro. Alternate product would need to match material, size, thickness, color and finish.
18) Corner Guard (CG-1) by CS Acrovyn. Alternate product needs to match material, color, finish, gauge and size.
19) Acoustic Fabric Wrapped Wall Panel (FWP-1) by Carnegie. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate product would need to match in material, color, finish, weight and acoustics.
20) High Impact Wall Covering (HIW-1, HIW-2) by Kydex, CS Acrovyn. Alternate product needs to match material, finish, gauge and size.
21) Coved Base Trim by Schluter. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate product must match in material, finish, profile and color.
22) Paint (PT-1, PT-2, PT-3, PT-4, PT-5, PT-6, PT-7) by Sherwin Williams. Colors were selected as part of an overall finish palette. Alternate product needs to match selected color, sheen and VOC values.
23) Epoxy Paint (EPX-1, EPX-2, EPX-3) by Sherwin Williams. Colors were selected as part of an overall finish palette. Alternate product needs to match selected material, color, sheen and VOC values.
24) Epoxy Resinous Flooring (ERF-1) by Stonhard. This product was selected as part of a larger overall color palette. Alternate materials would need to meet or exceed material, compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Colors and patterns need to match those specified
25) Room Pressure Monitor by Antec Controls. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
26) DDC Controllers by Johnson Controls, Schneider Ecostructure, Automated Logic.
Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
27) Metal Lockers by Penco. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
28) Door Hardware by McKinney, Markar, Rockwood, Corbin Russwin, RITE Door, Adams Rite, Securitron, HES, Rixon, Norton, Besam, Pemko. Alternate product would need to match in size, material, finish and durability.
29) Proximity Readers by ABB. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
30) Lighting by Metalux, Neo-Ray, Corelite, Sure-Lites, Sal, Eaton, Lumenwerx, Cooper Lighting, Halo. Manufacturers are listed to establish product quality, function and appearance.
31) Electrical Circuit Breakers by Eaton, GE, Square D. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
32) Telecommunications Equipment Cabinets by APC. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
33) Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) by Eaton. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
34) Non-Fire-Rated, smoke/ acoustical penetration pathway system by EZ-Path.
Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.
