About this file
This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) document submitted by the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) in Polk County, Florida, for the purchase and installation of three Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motors for chilled water air handlers. The procurement includes two 7.5 horsepower, three-phase, 460-volt motors with Frame size S213T and one 15 horsepower, three-phase, 460-volt motor with Frame size S254T to replace equipment in existing McQuay chilled water air handlers. The scope of work encompasses removal of old variable inlet valves, installation of new static pressure sensors where required, installation of new motors and fan/blower sheaves, cleaning of fans and blowers, and integration into Siemens Desigo Optic control software using BACnet protocol. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit were held on February 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at KUA offices located at 1701 West Carroll Street, Kissimmee, Florida 34741. The question submission deadline was extended to March 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST, and the bid submission deadline is March 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST via electronic submission through Vendor Link only.
Pricing must be submitted as lump-sum, all-inclusive unit prices on a fixed-price basis with delivery FOB Destination to Kissimmee, Florida, with all freight and transportation costs paid by the vendor. While Yaskawa is the preferred brand, KUA will accept any brand of drives and motors meeting the specified technical requirements. All work must be performed during non-business hours (outside Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM) to avoid operational disruptions. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of five consecutive years of verifiable experience servicing commercial accounts of equal size and scope and currently serve a minimum of four commercial accounts. The solicitation documents do not identify any set-aside designations or incumbent vendor preferences. All bidders must comply with various Florida Statutes requirements, including drug-free workplace certification, OSHA safety history documentation, conflict of interest statements, and cybersecurity network access policies. The RFQ requests four specific data points from the VFD integration: start/stop, faults, status, and static pressure readings, with wire gauge specified as 18 gauge and all wiring required to be in conduit.
