About this file

This is a prevailing wage footnotes document issued by the Connecticut Department of Labor Wage and Workplace Standards Division, effective July 1, 2025, applicable to state and local contract opportunities within Connecticut. The document provides supplementary benefits information for various construction-related occupations, including specific provisions for paid holidays, vacation pay, and holiday eligibility requirements. The footnotes apply to occupations such as bricklayers, cement masons, dredging workers, elevator constructors, glaziers, power equipment operators, ironworkers, laborers in tunnel construction, roofers, sprinkler fitters, and truck drivers engaged in heavy, highway, and building construction work. Each occupation listing references specific benefit codes (denoted by letters such as "a" or "a+b") that correlate to the detailed provisions outlined in this footnotes document, ensuring contractors and workers understand the mandatory benefits that must be provided at prevailing wage rates.

The document specifies distinct paid holiday schedules for each occupational category, with variations in the number and types of holidays recognized. For example, dredging workers receive nine paid holidays annually plus eight percent vacation pay based on straight-time rates and hours worked, while elevator constructors receive nine paid holidays plus a vacation pay credit of six to eight percent depending on tenure. Certain occupations include eligibility requirements, such as truck drivers requiring a minimum of 31 calendar days of service and mandatory work on scheduled days surrounding holidays, and sprinkler fitters requiring 20 working days of prior employment. Roofers must have been employed for at least 15 days prior to receiving holiday pay. These provisions establish mandatory minimum compensation standards for public works projects in Connecticut and must be incorporated into contract proposals and wage calculations for applicable construction classifications.
