About this file
This is a Payment Bond form required by the City of Carmel, Indiana for the 116th Street and Hoover Road Roundabout Construction project. The successful bidder must execute this bond or an equivalent form pre-approved by the City prior to contract execution. The bond date cannot be earlier than the contract date, and if the contractor is a partnership, all partners must execute the bond. The surety company must appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds" (Circular 570) and be authorized to conduct business in Indiana. The bond guarantees that the contractor will make prompt payments to all claimants, including subcontractors, material suppliers, and laborers performing work on the project. The bond remains in effect for one year following the City's final settlement with the contractor.
The penal sum of the bond is left blank in this template and will be completed based on the contract amount. The surety assumes full liability jointly and severally with the contractor for all payments due to claimants and agrees not to be released from obligation due to changes, extensions, alterations, or delays in the work. The surety waives notice of any modifications to the contract or project scope and accepts that no final settlement between the City and contractor will diminish the surety's obligations. This bond form serves as a guarantee mechanism to protect all parties furnishing labor, materials, equipment, and services for the roundabout construction project.
