PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 WARRANTY

All equipment specified shall include the standard manufacturer's warranty unless an extended warranty period is specifically indicated.

2.2 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA FOR PRODUCTS

2.2.1 Narrow Aisle Material Handling System

2.2.1.1 Narrow Aisle Turret Truck

Each electric narrow aisle turret truck shall have a 3,500 pound rated capacity at a 24-inch load center and at least 3,000 pound capacity at maximum lift height. The truck shall have enough lift height to reach all storage levels of the designed narrow aisle storage racking system.

The truck must have extended load-handling capability 48” deep X 108” wide. This extended capability is intended to support loads of this size stored on the racking endcaps and in other specially–constructed shelves, and is not reflective of the average 48” x 40” stacker loads. Truck must have in-aisle detection and end-of-aisle slow down capability. The carriage shall be equipped with 42" forks and must be able to pivot 180 degrees to pick up and deposit loads from either side or the front. The turret truck must be UL or FM certified with an NFPA rating of EE. The certification plate shall contain the lift truck's serial number, the accredited laboratory's identification, and the type designation EE. Service braking may be accomplished by plugging or other methods that allow for a smooth controlled stop. The truck shall be turret/stock picker type with sit and stand operation available. The cab shall be equipped with OSHA-approved front guard rail with side gates such that a fall protection harness need not be worn during operation. The operator cab shall have a full suspension seat with vertical adjustments for operation either sitting or standing and a cushioned floor mat.

Steering shall be multi-turn power steer with a three-wheel configuration to optimize maneuverability and stability.

All motors and controllers shall be easily accessible. Included shall be a body harness with retractable tether, mirrors, clipboard bracket, two copies of manuals (service and parts), operations training, transportation and set up. The turret truck shall be painted yellow (FED-STD-595, No. 13538 or equivalent). The truck shall feature an amber strobe light, an audible back-up alarm, an hour meter, work lights, a horn, battery discharge indicator, blue LED forklift pedestrian safety spotlight (front and Rear), and safety markings as detailed in Attachment (XX). The truck battery shall be maintenance-free, sealed, gel-type, equipped with a Battery ID Module (BID), with sufficient amp-hour capacity to provide a minimum of 8 hours runtime before charging. The truck and operational dimensions and weight lift capabilities shall be within the dimensional parameters indicated on the plans.

2.2.1.2 Narrow Aisle Turret Truck Battery Charging Station

A vehicle impact safety barrier shall be installed around the battery charger to ensure it is protected from physical damage. The Charger shall be a compatible smart charger with matching amp-hour charging capacity and BID capability, wired to receive 480V, 3 phase, 60 hertz.

2.2.1.3 Narrow Aisle Lift Truck In-Floor Wire Guide System

The electric lift truck traveling in rack aisles shall be guided by a wire installed within the concrete floor. Each wire guide shall be 16-gauge copper laid within a slot in the concrete floor sealed with two-part epoxy installed as part of this system. The wire guide system shall include all wire, end stops, line drives and other accessories required for a complete system. Coordinate with the storage rack system. The system shall utilize a 6.25 kHz signal.

2.2.1.4 Narrow Aisle Storage Rack System

a. General Calculations: Submit storage rack system calculations stamped by a registered design professional in the project jurisdiction to verify sizes, spacing of members, connections, and bracing. The storage rack system includes all components necessary to support the rack loads including the base plates, anchorage to the structural concrete slab, and seismic bracing of the rack system.

1) The minimum base plate size shall be based upon the maximum vertical leg (column) load used to account for the punching shear in the slab design.

2) Submit drawings showing sizes, thicknesses, layout, material designation, methods of installation, and accessories.

b. Storage rack framing system shall provide horizontal and vertical spacing as indicated on the plans and elevations. Load support wire decks shall be installed and mechanically fastened to storage rack horizontal frame members. Load carrying capacity of each deck and member shall not be less than that indicated on the elevations.

Vertical support systems shall be provided with support centerline dimension of approximately 9-feet 4-inches in length. Each horizontal member shall rest in vertical support notches or slots so that all applied weight is transferred from the horizontal member to the support vertically. Pre-drilled holes shall contain mechanical fasteners to eliminate horizontal member shift or lift during loading and unloading. No rack weight shall bear on these fasteners. Vertical supports shall be all welded construction with welded base plates and shall have a gray powder coated factory finish.

2.2.2 Narrow Aisle Reach Truck

Electric narrow aisle reach truck shall have a rated load capacity of 4500 pounds at a 24-inch load center and at least 3,500 pound load capacity at full lifting height. The Lifting height must be at least 300 inches and a maximum collapsed height must be 140 inches or less.

Carriage must be equipped with hydraulic side-shift, fork positioners, and fork tilt with tilt position indicator. Fork length shall be 45”.

Inside straddle width shall be at least 48 inches. The operator compartment shall come with an adjustable suspended seat and configured to allow stand up or sit down operation. The truck must be UL or FM certified with an NFPA rating of EE. The certification plate shall contain the lift truck's serial number, the accredited laboratory's identification, and the type designation EE. Service braking may be accomplished by plugging or other methods that allow for a smooth controlled stop. Truck shall be equipped with camera/s and a colored monitor capable of viewing all corners of the load.

All motors and controllers shall be easily accessed for maintenance.

Included shall be mirrors, clipboard bracket, two copies of manuals (service and parts), operations training, transportation and set up.

The truck shall be painted yellow (FED-STD-595, No.

2.2.3 Lift Truck Charging Station

A vehicle impact safety barrier shall be installed around the battery charger to ensure it is protected from physical damage. The Charger shall be a compatible smart charger with matching amp-hour charging capacity and BID capability, wired to receive 480V, 3 phase, 60 hertz.
