Potential Questions for Industry Day Contactors – P-1062 Dry Dock #3 Modernization

1. Based upon the project presentation and your review of the plans and specifications, What are your top 3 overall project concerns?

2. Based on the construction time frame presented in the schedule milestones,

a. Is the planned schedule achievable?

b. What do you consider to be the most critical or at risk elements of the planned project schedule?

3. What elements of the design and related construction concern you the most?

4. What elements of the project environmental requirements concern you most?

5. Given current pricing volatility, how much utility does an Economic Price Adjustment provide? Would it have a positive impact on your assessment of project risk and interest in the project?

6. Do you anticipate that adherence to the Buy America Act may significantly impact procurement of materials (specifically cost and lead time due to limited availability of US manufacturers) for this project such as large sluice gates and valves?. If so, what items do you think would be impacted and what are the generally expected lead times and increased cost as a percentage compared to a foreign supplier?

7. Any recent examples of extreme lead times for procurement of unique materials/equipment (generally mechanical and electrical) that are readily available in the US but have recently had longer than historically typical lead times? If so, what items do you think would be impacted and what are the generally expected lead times?
