About this file
This document provides details for a federal contract solicitation to repair a pier facility at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center in Andros Island, Bahamas. The solicitation seeks proposals for a firm-fixed price design-bid-build construction contract to remove the existing pier superstructure, retain existing steel piles by cutting them off and incorporating them into a new pier structure, and construct a closed-pier mole-type structure with steel pipe piles and compacted structural fill capped with a reinforced concrete deck. The new pier must include shore power, potable water, fire protection, lighting, mooring hardware and fender systems, with pier utilities connecting to existing landside sources. A temporary mooring facility must also be built to accommodate vessels during construction. The pre-proposal conference was held virtually on July 13, 2021 and an organized site visit took place on July 15, 2021. Proposals are due by August 24, 2021 to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast. The contract value is estimated between $25 million and $100 million.
