About this file
This federal contract opportunity solicitation is for the design-bid-build repair project of the AUTEC Pier facility located at Andros Island, Bahamas. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command will award a firm-fixed price contract to remove the existing pier superstructure, cutoff and incorporate the existing steel piles into the new pier structure, and construct a closed-pier mole-type structure with a steel pipe pile combination wall retaining compacted structural fill and capped with a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade deck. The new pier will include shore power, potable water, fire protection system, lighting, mooring hardware and foam filled fender system tying into existing landside utilities. A temporary mooring facility will also be constructed to minimize interruptions to AUTEC operations during construction. The magnitude of the project is estimated between $25,000,000 to $100,000,000.
