About this file

This document contains pre-proposal inquiries and responses related to a federal solicitation for construction projects at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The solicitation seeks the construction of a Boat Maintenance and Storage Facility and a Large Vehicle Maintenance Storage Building. The Boat Maintenance and Storage Facility will be an 18,000 square foot single-story building for boat and engine repair and storage. The Large Vehicle Maintenance Storage Building will be a 20,000 square foot single-story bulk storage facility. Both buildings will utilize pre-engineered metal structures with concrete block infill walls. 001 Key Note #1

PP102C What type of air compressor enclosure is required, will this be built in place or a prefabricated unit?

What type of materials is the weatherproof air compressor enclosure to be constructed of?

There is no detail or specifications for the weatherproof air compressor enclosure in the documents provided, can we get a detail of this enclosure added to the drawings and possibly a specification added as well?

The air compressor used as the basis-of-design is furnished with a sound-attenuating enclosure.

This enclosure was mislabeled as a water-proof enclosure on sheet PP102C. Metal shading device is provided over the compressor to limit exposure to the elements. Provide a tank-mounted air compressor with a sound-attenuating enclosure to lower the sound level generated by the compressor and further reduce exposure of the compressor’s components to outdoor conditions.
