About this file
This federal solicitation seeks design-build services for replacement of a river water cooling system at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project involves replacing an aging 50,000 gallon per minute system with a new 8,200 gallon per minute cooling tower capable of rejecting up to 75 million British Thermal Units per hour of heat. The reliable cooling water system will support research, development, test and evaluation activities in Building 633, including testing of the Columbia Class Program Integrated Power System. The Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command issued the solicitation with the goal of minimizing environmental impacts while providing an on-demand cooling water source to support testing operations.
