Building 13 is a wood frame building, can press fittings be used to replace solder & welding fittings? Press system is being used by the base maintenance at this time, and was used in the renovation of buildings M-1, M- 2, M-3 due to old wood frame construction. This is also very cost effective solution (no open flame) and much faster.

As directed by the Government, per NAVFAC Midlant and the UFC press fittings cannot be used in lieu of solder and welding fittings.
