CC100 thru CC120

CC500On Typical Section sheets C-003 thru C-013 the fill material on the shoulders and behind curbs is shown only as T, select material. However, sheets CC100 thru CC120 General Note 4 states "areas of disturbance outside the limits of new pavement shall be permanently restored with 4" of Topsoil and permanent sod. Also, sheet CC500 Note 7, states 6" Topsoil on all cut/fill slopes. Can you please clarify? Also, can consideration be given to allowing use of existing soil on the job site as shoulder material or material behind the curbs in lieu of select material?Provide 6" topsoil.
178/7/20Various SheetsOn demolition plans where it says to sawcut approximately 1' in from the edge of pavement, remove the 1' of pavement and mill the remaining width of the roadway, is it acceptable to mill to the edge of pavement? This will save the government both time and money. The loss of 1' of the existing travel lane will make it even more difficult to maintain the minimum 10' travel lanes.Bid per the plans.
188/7/20CP100After visiting the project site, it appears that the existing power poles from approximately STA 208+00 to STA 210+00 will be in the way on constructing the new swale. Can a detail for the minimum foundation requirements be provided? If not, can pole information such as height and make/model be provided so that the proper calculations can be made when deciding on what type of foundation is necessary. For bidding purposes, assume 30" Diameter X 12' below grade, 2' above grade footings, 4,000 PSI concrete, with No. 5 bar cage 10" O.C.. The awarded contractor is responsible for providing details for review and approval per the plans.
218/7/20C003 to C0013In areas that call for minimal widening, for example Birch St. STA 252+95.79 to STA 255+38.36, is B25.0C Asphalt acceptable to use in lieu of Aggregate Base Course? No.
228/7/20CD119Note 8 on sheet CD119 states to "Remove Existing Steam Vault." There is no other information provided about this steam vault. The typical section for this portion of Birch St. on sheet C004 shows select material under the concrete island. Please confirm.Utilize detail C1 on sheet CP504 - "Paved Concrete Island"
288/7/20501 14 006Page 5 paragraph 6 of Section 01 14 00 of the Project Specifications states that, "No work must be performed between Parachute Road and Holcomb Boulevard during the hours of 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM… This period has not been considered in computing the time allowed for the performance of this contract." Does this Exclusionary Period include only the work on Birch St. between Parachute Road and Holcomb Boulevard, or all work that is part of this RFP between Parachute Road and Holcomb Boulevard? The referenced restriction applies to the entire project limits.

308/7/20RFP Price optionsThe Traffic Control Notes and Staging Notes describe in concept the design and use of temporary signals, barriers, and pavement markings to facilitate the construction. With almost 3 feet of pavement structure under the widening and the full depth repair, the comprehensive traffic control plan designed and priced will have to be designed to accomplish this widening and full depth repair per the plans.
