GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: Question is not relevant as Head End system is not in scope of work.
547. Are there any specific areas where the DAS cable is required to be installed in conduit
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: As with any hospital there are imaging areas, etc which will need special considerations with regards to signal. The contractor will need to take all areas into account when planning cable routing and coverage.
548. FD drawings include note about existing piping and sprinklers remaining until the new system is completed. If this is required, please confirm the government has modeled the existing sprinkler system for Contractor's use during coordination. If this is required, please clarify if upright sprinkler heads are required to be installed off of the existing sprinkler system once the ceilings are removed. If upright sprinkler heads are required, please clarify if the systems will have to be drained down every day until the new work is completed.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: All existing piping is not modeled. Available existing building information has been scanned in and provided in the project supporting documentation. Active sprinkler systems must be compliant with NFPA 13. Drain system as necessary to accomplish project contract requirements - refer to note 3 on cover sheet FX-012 (this note is on all fire suppression cover sheets).

GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: The work reflected on sheets ET-612& ET-613 are all to be included in the contractor’s scope of work. ET-612, Enabling, are temporary cables which need to be rerouted in order to facilitate Phase 1 demolition. Work shown on Sheet ET-613 are permanent connections to existing areas which need rerouted around construction.
550. In the Add #9 revision of 06 41 16.00 10, the Spec contradicts itself for the material for semi-exposed surfaces. Section 2.4 specifically notes melamine for semi-exposed surfaces, whereas Section
2.12.8.1 crossed out melamine and notes that all interior semi-exposed surfaces should be LPDL Grade.
Please clarify if semi-exposed surfaces should be melamine or LPDL grade. Reference 06 41 16.00 10
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
Semi-exposed surfaces in question should be melamine. Make the following modification: Delete 06 41 16.00 10 and replace with enclosed 06 41 16.00 10, identified in the header as Pre-Bid RFI 550 dated 10/24/18.

There are references to other traffic control scenarios included on various other drawings throughout the sets (i.e. CX-204 in Package 1). The Volume 5 Drawings appear to have been coordinated with the CD series and the CU series. Please confirm that the Volume 5 Drawings C-103-106 are accurate and can be assumed for the duration of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 Construction periods.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: The CX series of drawings, depict the conditions of the site during deep excavation activities. The overall construction traffic path does not differ during this period, what does change is the site specific soil erosion and sediment control plans. The overall traffic plan does change between the two major construction phases as indicated on sheets C-103 through C-106.
556. Please provide clarification on the Cafe relocation sequencing. (see AD-101B.1, AD-401, A-462 thru
465) Does the North end of the Cafe relocation work have to be completed before the main demolition starts? Please confirm that the Cafe area fit out does not need to be completed prior to main demolition.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: Refer to Specification 01 14 00 Attachment (A) Phasing Narrative and Attachment (B) Nodal Diagram for required sequencing of work. Any proposed overlap of activities will be evaluated in review of Baseline Network Analysis Schedule per 01 32 17.00 20, issued 2/28/18.
557. Please confirm the SS and SD lines thru Bldg 7&8 on CS-204 and CS-202 will be relocated to the new tunnel by others and that they are considered inactive/capped.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: There are several clarifications that are required to answer these questions.
1) The CS series of sheets are the original existing conditions based on the survey conducted in April of 2013.
2) The CE series of sheets are meant to represent the existing condition of the site at the point in time of the work being conducted during this phase of construction. In this case the CE plans represent the site conditions at the completion of the prior P130 utilities relocation project.
3) Refer to Sheet C-001-1, Civil Package 1 Key Plan for a series of notes that describe the sheet content.
4) The sanitary sewer and storm drainage lines have been relocated to the extents shown on the CE series of sheets, however the lines passing beneath Buildings 2 through 8 are still existing and carrying flows from these existing structures. Once these Building are vacated and services are cut off, then the underlying utility lines will be dormant and ready for removal.
558. SECTION 23 09 23.13 20 - 1.7.9 - a states, "The Controls and Instrumentation System Contractor shall be a primary equipment manufacturer-owned branch office that is regularly engaged in the engineering, programming, installation and service of total integrated Facility Management Systems of similar size, scope and complexity to the EEC specified in this Contract. Distributors, manufacturer's representatives and wholesalers will not be acceptable." Since RFI #22 opened the controls specification to include Delta Controls by Envise as an acceptable DDC controls manufacturer, please confirm acceptable controls equipment provided by other non-manufacturer-owned branch offices is acceptable.
Reference 23 09 23.13 20 and RFI #22
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: Controls equipment by other non-manufacturer owned branches is not acceptable, besides what was already directed in the specification and RFI 22.
559. Please confirm seismic design category for this project as there is conflicting information in the bid documents. S-001 lists this project as seismic design category A, while specification section 23 00 00 lists this as seismic design category D. Reference S-001 and 23 00 00
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
HDR Response: Seismic design category shall be as shown on S-001. Make the following modification to 23 00 00 Air Supply, Distribution, Ventilation, and Exhaust Systems, section 1.7 Seismic design requirements a (3): Delete “Seismic Design Category D” and replace with “Seismic Design Category A”.
