About this file
This document provides answers to vendor questions on presolicitation N00024-19-R-2222 for U.S. Navy Force Protection Medium boats. The Navy intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal in the first quarter of fiscal year 2019 for an estimated 113 Force Protection Medium boats over five years under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The boats will provide anti-terrorism and force protection for naval installations, including patrol, interrogation of waterborne assets, and escorting vessels in and out of port under various conditions. Questions from vendors cover requirements for seating, windows and doors, machine gun mounts, bow design, and alternative items. The Navy provides clarification that only Coxswain and Navigator seats require shock mitigation, overlapping machine gun arcs are permissible, and offerors may propose alternative items meeting specifications.
