Attachment 1, Appendix (I) Paint Specification 27 May 2015
C-26 PAINT SPECIFICATION
Sigonella and Naples, Italy and Patuxent River, MD Aircraft
The C-26D aircraft at Sigonella and Naples shall be painted in accordance with MIL-STD-2161 and using best commercial practices with a polyurethane top coat as follows:
1. The fuselage, empennage and engine nacelles shall be overall gloss white. The wings shall remain bare metal.
2. A four inch wide stripe, composed of a two inch wide Navy blue stripe above a two inch wide gold stripe, shall be applied around the fuselage on a water line just above the nose radome (approximately eight inches below the bottom edge of the cabin windows).
3. Engine nacelles aft of engine exhaust in area likely to be stained by engine exhaust shall be painted flat black.
4. Wheel wells and inside surfaces of the wheel well doors shall be painted gloss white. DO NOT paint the landing gear.
5. Do not paint fiberglass lip and duct of inboard wing air conditioning inlet. Prevent primer and paint from getting on wing-fuselage fairing scoop. Do not paint rounded stainless steel lip of the oil cooler inlets for approximately 1 ½ inches inside and outside. Do not paint the SAS vane or allow anything to fill the gap between the rotating part of the vane and the skin cutout.
6. Do not paint antennas.
7. Always paint each color on a primed surface. Do not paint over an existing painted surface.
8. Markings (either paint or decal):
a. Apply markings to comply with FAR 25.811(f)
b. Propeller Warning Band as identified in MIL-STD-2161 Figure A-9 and Figure C-7 (UC-12) Item J. As an alternative to the identified “DANGER” and Arrows as shown in Figure A-9 would be to have the Arrows located under the “DANGER” sign.
All safety Marks shall also remain.
(*) Anti-Glare approximately located forward of Fuselage Station (F.S.) 88.060 (Wind Screen), to F.S. 33.000 (following the top of forward luggage compartment door). Construct a radius Forward of F.S. 33.000 Right, not to exceed F.S. 12.030.
APPENDIX E - C-26 PAINT SPECIFICATION
PMRF Barking Sands, HI
The EC/RC-26D aircraft shall be painted in accordance with MIL-STD-2161 and using best commercial practices with a polyurethane top coat as follows:
1. The fuselage, empennage and engine nacelles shall be overall gloss white. The wings shall remain bare metal.
2. A four inch wide stripe, composed of a two inch wide Navy blue stripe above a two inch wide gold stripe, shall be applied around the fuselage on a water line just above the nose radome (approximately eight inches below the bottom edge of the cabin windows).
3. Engine nacelles aft of engine exhaust in area likely to be stained by engine exhaust shall be painted flat black.
4. Wheel wells and inside surfaces of the wheel well doors shall be painted gloss white. DO NOT paint the landing gear.

National star insignia (eighteen inches in diameter) shall be applied to the aft fuselage above the stripe and centered on the cargo door, on the corresponding area of the right aft fuselage, and on the left top wing and bottom right wing centered mid chord and midway between the nacelle and the wing tip.
b.
“UNITED STATES NAVY” in 6 ½ inch gloss black block letters shall be applied to the left fuselage one inch above the top of the cabin windows centered between the main cabin door and the over-wing escape hatch, and to the corresponding location on the right fuselage.
c.
“NAVY” in 12 inch gloss black block letters shall be applied on the left bottom wing and top right wing centered mid chord and midway between the nacelle and the wing tip.
d.
The main cabin door and over-wing escape hatches shall be outlined with a two inch stripe of gloss light gray paint.
e.
The six digit Bureau Number (BUNO) shall be applied in 6 inch gloss black block letters on both side of the vertical stabilizer 8 inches below the horizontal stabilizer so the last digit ends 24 inches ahead of the leading edge of the rudder.
f. An eight inch United States slanted flag shall be applied to both sides of the vertical stabilizer six inches below the rudder counterbalance and six inches forward of the rudder leading edge.
g. Apply markings to comply with FAR 25.811 (f)
Additional required markings are:
a. Anti-Glare located Nose Forward of Wind Screen (MIL-STD-2161 Paragraph 5.1.8) (*Dimensional location)
b. Propeller Warning Band as identified in MIL-STD-2161 Figure A-9 and Figure C-7 (UC-12) Item J and Enclosure 2. As an alternative to the identified “DANGER” and Arrows as shown in Figure A-9 would be to have the Arrows located under the “DANGER” sign.
All Safety Marks shall also remain.
