About this file

This is Addendum No. 4 to Plans and Specifications No. R-7213 for the Multi Service Center Energy Efficiency Upgrade project in Long Beach, California, issued by the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works on June 28, 2024. The project involves HVAC replacement and building renovation work at a multi-service facility. Contractors must have completed at least one similar project valued at $500,000 or more within the last five calendar years for a public agency to qualify for bidding. The project coordinator role may be filled by a contractor's own employee, subject to City approval and prior experience requirements, and does not require on-site presence. Pre-job conferences will occur after project award. Construction laydown and parking space will be allocated at the northwest corner of the existing parking lot for the duration of construction. Contractors may begin work prior to facility opening hours with a separate key provided for front gate access, subject to compliance with the City Construction Noise Ordinance.

The addendum clarifies that construction means and methods fall within the contractor's expertise and discretion, with the City declining to dictate work performance methods. The facility operates Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday), and the facility closes on all City holidays. Construction work phasing will be coordinated with City project team and on-site staff to optimize progress while maintaining facility operations. Existing construction drawings from a 2013 facility renovations project are available for reference regarding roof heights and MEP locations. A Labor Compliance consultant will be provided by the City to assist with LCP tracker registration and CPR uploads. Prospective bidders should direct communications to Kimvy Nguyen or Jennifer Magajes at the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works Project Management Bureau prior to the bid opening.
