About this file
This is a preventive maintenance inspection report for a Rietschle Duplex Medical Vacuum System (Model CHBD-341-243) at VA Medical Center Erie, located at 135 East 38th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16504. The inspection was conducted on December 11, 2024 (Job #622374, SO #622374) by technician RG/TP, with contact information provided for David Dombkowski (david.dombkowski@va.org, 814-860-2924).
The system comprises two pumps with high operating hours (76,698 and 76,811 hours respectively) and includes four motors with specifications detailed in the Motor Information Section, including voltage ratings (203-205V L1-L3), amperage readings (31.90-32.90 AMPS), frame size 284TC, 230V supply, 40 full load amps, 15 horsepower, and 1,165 RPM. The inspection assessment indicates that all major components are acceptable (A), including exhaust filters, ballast filters, inlet filters, coupling, motor lubrication, starter contacts, transformer condition, and panel components. Oil and oil filters for both pumps were marked as repaired (R) on 12/11/24. Thermal overload settings measured 48.00 AMPS for both units. Vacuum switch readings included lead vac switch at 18-23 inHG and lag switches at 16-21 inHG, with local lag alarm audible and visual indicators functioning. No deficiencies were identified. The maintenance work performed included changing oil in both pumps, cleaning and blowing out coolers, and flushing oil from coolers and exhaust box sumps. The technician noted that pumps are well-maintained with acceptable oil levels and clarity despite high operating hours. The recommendation is to maintain preventive maintenance frequency. Five units of OEM Synthetic Oil (Part Number R590) from customer stock were used during the service.
