About this file
This is an installation questionnaire document detailing the requirements and logistics for tank inspections at Fort Novosel, AL. The document covers two separate inspection tasks: an API 653 Internal Inspection for FAC 25647 Tank 2, and STI External inspections with strapping charts for Tanks 900, 901, and 908.
The document provides detailed facility information including access requirements (CAC cards acceptable but contractors cannot escort subcontractors), tank locations, utility availability (electricity and water within 200-300 feet), manway specifications, and environmental requirements. Key operational notes include that one diesel tank must remain operational for emergency vehicles at all times, with the capability to take down one diesel tank and the Mogas tank simultaneously. The contractor is responsible for fuel transfer and storage of up to 3,000 gallons of F-24 fuel for one tank and 1,500 gallons of Mogas fuel for another. The installation requires 6 weeks advance notice prior to contractor arrival, and since the last inspection in 2016, the tank configuration has changed from 1 diesel/2 Mogas tanks to 2 diesel/1 Mogas tank.
