About this file

This is an Exhibit document detailing historical waste material generation rates and current collection services for the Department of Aviation at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas, supporting a Total Waste Management Services procurement. The document outlines waste streams across two primary service areas: Barbra Jordan Terminal and Airport Campus Outbuildings. At Barbra Jordan Terminal, monthly waste generation averages 114 tons of landfill trash, 68 tons of recyclables, and 2.37 tons of compost, with daily services provided 7 days per week from 4:00 AM to 12:00 AM by 1-3 onsite personnel. Airport Campus Outbuildings are serviced on recurring haul schedules ranging from weekly to bi-weekly pickups across multiple facilities including Central Maintenance Facility, APD Building, TSA Office, ACDC Building, P&E Building, IS Building, Bradford Logistics, ARFF, and South Terminal, with equipment ranging from 6 cubic yard to 20 cubic yard containers for landfill trash, recycling, and compost streams.

The document further specifies additional waste and recyclable materials currently managed by various vendors on an as-needed basis, including diverse battery types (alkaline, nickel-cadmium, lithium-ion, lead-acid), light bulb recycling, vehicle batteries, tires, oils, scrap metal, hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, and contaminated soil, with annual quantities ranging from 25 pounds for small lithium-ion batteries to 40,800 pounds for scrap metal and 325 tires. As a conditionally exempt small quantity generator, the Department of Aviation generates approximately 238 pounds of hazardous waste annually. This comprehensive waste management scope encompasses all waste streams at AUS, including landfill, recyclable, and compost materials, with the incumbent utilizing multiple vendors for specialized disposal and recycling services.
