About this file

This is a Small Business Preference Submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to an Automatic Door Maintenance, Repair, Replacement, and Inspection contract. The document outlines the City's Small Business Preference Procurement Program, which encourages small business participation in City solicitations. Offerors may voluntarily identify themselves as recognized Small Businesses to receive procurement incentives. Small Business Primes—businesses that are themselves certified small businesses—may receive full preference, while non-small businesses that include one or more Small Business Subcontractors may receive partial preference if combined small business subcontracting values meet or exceed 5 percent of the total contract amount. Participation in the program is optional and not required to respond to the solicitation.

To qualify as a Small Business under the City's program, an entity must hold a recognized certification that complies with the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small Business Size Standards. The City recognizes specific certifications as outlined on its Small Business Program webpage. Offerors must complete the certification section of the form, providing the certifying entity name, certification acronym, certification number, and expiration date, or alternatively complete the attached Subcontracting Plan if using Small Business Subcontractors. The City reserves the right to request additional information to confirm certifications and may contact certifying entities directly for verification. Misrepresentation of certification status may result in withholding of preference, disqualification from the contract, or contract voidance if discovered after award.
