About this file

This is an Insurance Attachment document for the City of Austin's Automatic Door Maintenance, Repair, Replacement, and Inspection contract. The document establishes comprehensive insurance requirements that the contractor must maintain throughout the contract duration, including all extension options and hold-over periods. The contractor is required to provide a Certificate of Insurance to the City prior to contract execution and within 14 calendar days of written request, with failure to provide such documentation potentially resulting in disqualification from consideration for award. Work cannot commence until required insurance is obtained and reviewed by the City, and the contractor must maintain continuous coverage throughout the contract term.

The specific insurance requirements include Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Insurance with minimum limits of $500,000 per injury type; Commercial General Liability Insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate; Business Automobile Liability Insurance with a combined single limit of $500,000 per occurrence; Umbrella/Excess Liability Insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and in aggregate; Professional Liability Insurance with limits of $500,000 per claim and aggregate; and Environmental Impairment Liability/Pollution Legal Liability Insurance with limits of $500,000 per claim. All insurance must be provided by companies authorized to do business in Texas with an A.M. Best rating of B+VII or better. The City must be named as an additional insured on applicable policies, and all policies must include waivers of subrogation, 30-day cancellation notice provisions, and severability of interests clauses. The contractor is responsible for all premiums, deductibles, and self-insured retentions, and the City reserves the right to review and adjust insurance requirements during the contract period based on changes in exposure, statutory law, or claims history.
