Please confirm that screening wood chips in all areas is only required following tub grinder procedures required of stumps and/or roots and is not required during normal chipping of trees and brush.
Screening of chips to remove entrained soil is only required for stumps and roots and is NOT required during normal chipping of trees and brush.
▪ Section 01 22 00, Bid item 10, Site Grading, a., i., states “Assume that off-site borrow will not be required and that high spots and low spots …… will balance. Has AECOM performed the takeoff to determine if the site is in balance? Also is the Contractor expected to move existing soil from multiple zones to multiple zones in order to achieve the necessary grades? Why can’t the excavation plan be modified to incorporate the proposed final grades?
Designer has performed analysis in Civil-3D and has found that the design grades are in balance. It is possible that some 10-acre areas will have excess or require soil to meet proposed design grades.
Contractor will work with CM to address identified issues in the field.
The excavation plan is designed to remove impacted soil while limiting the colume to be moved to the consolidation area and will not be modified further.
▪ Section 01 22 00, Bid item 11, Bid item 14, topsoil and seed. Has the government considered utilizing any of the existing on-site topsoil in lieu of importing roughly 250,000 cubic yards?
Topsoil shall be imported as specified.
I got disconnected from the group when driving to the site; could you send me the exact address or coordinates where the entrance is relevant to this scope of work?
The main construction entrance is located at 40° 28' 48.47"N 74° 39' 48.59" W.
