GS-03P-12-CD-D-0018, Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity Multiple Award Large Project Construction Term Contract For Western Virginia and West Virginia
Amendment 06 08/23/13
The subject solicitation is amended to include the following items referenced on the official www.FBO.GOV site on 08/23/13:
1. ADDITIONALQUESTIONS FROM BIDDERS:
The following answers are provided in response to questions that have been submitted by
Bidders:
A.1 Sheet EP-103 shows several circuits connected to Panel Bp. Where is Bp panel located?
Answer: Per drawings E-601, Bp is located in the penthouse at the top of the stair.
A.2 Does the owner have a company under contract for the fire alarm maintenance system?
Answer: see A5
A.3 Sheet EP-1-01 note 11 shows us to install Detention-type NEMA 5-20R receptacle with vandal resistant covers. Please provide part numbers and manufacturer information that complies with this description.
Answer: Refer to specification section 262726, SS2.7.B.
A.4 Sheet F-1-03 shows several unexcavated areas. Is there access to these areas and is it safe to enter?
Answer: Abingdon Facilities Manager, Robert Bailey, confirmed access to the spaces.
AECOM cannot advise on the safety of entry to these areas. GC shall perform work in accordance with applicable codes and safety regulations.
A.5 Does owner have a company under contract for the fire alarm system maintenance?
Answer: The fire alarm system is a GE system and the company which performs the maintenance, testing & service on the system is FLSA, INC.

A.6 Sheet FJ-1-02 and F-1-02
a. Sheet FJ-1-02, Demolition notes # 1 and # 3, states remove and protect security devices by contractor.
b. Sheet F-1-02, Amendment 005, states in General note # 5 that all security device symbols are to show what will be installed in that location by others under separate contract.
c. Should the separate security contractor be responsible for disconnecting and removing the existing security equipment items, to prevent issues of equipment failure or damages by construction processes?
i. Most security equipment installations are specialized and need trained personnel to operate and maintain. Each system or manufacture usually has special instructions that require certain procedures to be followed.
Answer: A. All existing USMS security devices as shown on Sheets FJ 102 which are to be salvaged by the USMS will be removed by their security contractor(TYCO) prior to start of demolition. The project contractor will be responsible for coordination of this work. Any items which are determined to be non-salvageable will remain the property of the project contractor and will be removed along with the other demolition material.
