Additional RFI Responses as of 2/3/17
Please see the original RFI Response Sheet for RFI 1-17 and their respective responses.
Please see RFI Response Sheet dated 1/6/17 for RFI 18-78 and their respective responses.
Please see RFI Response Sheet dated 1/20/17 for RFI 79-111 and their respective responses.
RFI112. There is a discrepancy between the specification section 096900 2.2 paragraph A Floor Coverings and the Finish Plans M AF 1 01 to 03/ C AF 1 03. The specifications call for a factory finished panel with conductive High pressure laminate Tile or an unfinished panel to receive a field applied carpet tile. The Finish plans call for a variety of finishes including 2 types of VCT Tile [ VCT 1 & 2 ] , 2 types of rubber tile [ RBT 1 & 2 ] , Polished Concrete [ CNC-3 ], and Carpet Tile [ CPT-1 ]. I am assuming the CPT-1 finish meets the specification of an unfinished panel 096900 2.2 B. Please clarify the other finishes as per drawings or specifications and field applied versus factory applied.
Response112. Access panels to receive CPT-1, RBT-2 or VCT-2 as indicated in Finish Plans. Finish label on room M220 was incorrect. Correct finish for that room shall be CPT-1.
RFI 113. Please request from the Architect, a schedule indicating which Glass type is to be provided for the interior, non-Fire rated Hollow Metal Doors and Frames for this Project. Also, please confirm that the Glass types required will be per Spec. 088001/2.3.
Response113. Please provide laminated clear glass for HM doors and frames (GLZ-1). Refer to Interior Glazing Schedule sheets D-AE-811/812 for Interior Glazing Types Legend.
RFI114. On Drawing G CU1 42 and on G CU1 43 it shows future wells. Do they want piping from manifolds in the mechanical rooms to that location run and capped off so there wouldn’t be any cause for damage to the other piping in the future?
Response114. Drawing G CU 141 and G CU 142 show extended header sections leading from the main manifolds to the future geoexchange loop locations. These must be capped off for future connections.
For purposes of bidding use the total number of wells shown in the well field area on drawings G CU 141 and G CU 142. The Closed Loop Well Field Piping and Instrumentation Detail on Drawing G CU 641 improperly shows a typical detail including 6 wells and a single future well. The detail should show a typical detail of 7 wells as shown on drawing G CU 141. Loop 1 is to have 6 wells as shown on drawing G
CU 141.
RFI115. Section 332313-2 System Description. B. the have 32mm 1 1⁄4”, 50mm 2” and 75mm 3” piping. I do not see on any drawings or in the specs there design for the circuits. One field has 5 wells per circuit and the other has 7 wells per circuit, normally on a reverse return system there would be different sized piping to ensure that each well has the proper flow. Will they be providing a circuit diagram of how they want it completed?
Response115. Drawings G CU 641 / G CU 642 show the pipe sizing for each circuit.
RFI116. Section: 332313-5 G. They talk about a manifold, I do not see anything on any plans for the interior manifolds?
Response116. Specification section 332313 Part 1.4 D defines the main manifold. Drawing G CU 642 shows the outside and inside portions of the geoexchange system.
RFI117. Section: 332313-6 2.3 Grout A. Grout and silica sand is required. They have come out with a new product which we have been using for 2 years which is called Power Tec, which replaces the use of silica sand, will we be able to use the power tec in place of sand? It provides the same results
Response117. Alternative materials will be considered following the substitution procedures in specification section 012500. For the purposes of bidding, use the products specified in the construction documents.
RFI118. Section: 332313-7 A. Supply our own water. There will be nowhere onsite to obtain water for drilling and grouting purposes?
Response118. The contractor is expected to furnish the supply of potable water to perform the Work.
RFI119. Section: 332313-8 3.4 drilling H. Dispose of drilling waste and water offsite. I would place that under the excavation contract
Response119. Coordinate with the general contractor.
RFI120. Section: 332313-11 3.9 Field Quality Control B. It states pressure tests of 690kpa, could I get that translated into psi please?
Response120. It is the contractor's responsibility to convert measurements if necessary.
RFI121. On Page 3 of 40 of the Solicitation in Amendment #2 under I.B List of Solicitation Documents Item #(2) Offeror Representations and Certifications Form. Also, on page 6 of 40 same document under II.# Other Information to Submit with Proposal – Representations and Certifications is outlined with the FAR 42.204-8 and C301 as being attached however I am not seeing them provided.
Response121. Offeror Representations and Certifications Form is now attached.
RFI122. Please confirm that the proposal is now due at 2:00 PM. Form SF-1442 states 2:00 PM, but Document C201, Page 5 of 40 states 10:00 am, as does the Please Note paragraph on Page 2.
Response122. Proposal due date is now 2:00PM on February 28, 2017. This proposal due date takes precedent over any previously issued date and time.
RFI123. Specification section 012500, Substitution Procedures, this section indicates in Part 2 – Products,
2.1 Substitutions, B. Substitutions for Convenience, “the CO will consider requests for substitutions if received within 60 days after the Notice to Proceed”. Section 265113, 1.9 Substitutions A, line item 3 “Submit a written request to the Architect for luminaires at least 2 weeks prior to the bid”. Can you clarify which requirement will apply to the lighting fixtures?
Response123. Specification section 012500 is the ruling authority here. Please disregard the quotes sentence in Section 265113.
RFI124. According to spec section 011000 – Summary, paragraph 1.5.A.b – Towel Dispenser – Is this the Paper towel dispenser with waste receptacle as shown on the drawings.
Response124. Install owner supplied towel dispenser. For toilet accessory TA-2, price as Waste Reptacle Model B-277 by Bobrick.
RFI125. Drawing C EL 1 02, fixtures F6, F28 & F29 have designations marked F6S, F6O & F6C. What are the letter designations, they are not identified on the drawing or in the Lighting Schedule/Specification.
This condition exists on several lighting drawings for the three types of fixtures.
Response125. Suffixes for fixtures F6, F28 & F29 clarified as below. No suffix indicates both solid end caps without devices. S - one end with hole for sprinkler head. O - one end with junction box for occupancy sensor. B - one end with hole for sprinkler head, and the other end with junction box for occupancy sensor. P - one end with hole for daylight photosensor. SP - one end with hole for daylight photosensor, and other end with hole for sprinkler head.
RFI126. Regarding the Attachment Forms:
Attachment A1 – Experience Summary Table Attachment A2 – Project Fact Sheet Attachment A3 – Key Personnel Resume
These forms were provided in a format that is not editable. The fields are too small to accommodate all of the required information. Is an editable version of these forms available for us to use? If not, would it be acceptable to provide the required information outlined on the Forms on a separate sheet of paper, so long as we follow the format and answer all the questions in the correct order?
Response126. Providing the required information on a separate sheet of paper, so long as you follow the format and answer all of the questions in the correct order, is allowable.
