RFI179: Due to the size and complexity of the project, we would like to request an extension to the bid date. at least a week.
Response179: No proposal extension will be considered at this time.
RFI180: I have put together a VE package for this job, and I was hoping you could let me know who we should submit our package to for approval. If you could please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Response180: VE packages will only be considered from the vendor who is awarded the contract.
RFI181: Spec Section 111233 – Automated Gates page 2 Part 2 – Products states: Automated gates shall be HySecurity StrongArm 20 and HySecurity StrongArm M50 or approved equals.
On the drawing Volume 3. G SS 6 01 it shows the StrongArm 20’s as HySecurity StrongArm DOT 28’s which are different. Along with that on drawing G SS 2 02 are dimensions of the DOT 28 barrier gate. The dimensions for these gate arms are too long for the StrongArm 20 to handle.
Gates A1, A5, A6: 8.5m Gate A2: 7.3m Gate A3: 7.9m To clear things up let me know which gates you would like me to go with.
Response181: Gates A1, A2, A3, A5, and A6 shall be HySecurity StrongArm DOT 28 gate or approved equal
RFI182: Drawing C AE1-03 Door C163-1 to the Janitors Closet is not on the door schedule; what kind of door and hardware goes in that opening?
Response182: Refer to other Janitor's Closet doors for type and hardware.
RFI183: Opening M167-3 exterior hollow metal door has hardware Set 12, “Supplied by the manufacturer”, is there something special about this door? Door M 195-1 has hardware set 09, that is for a pair of doors, and Door M211-1 is not on the floor plans, should that be the door to the Breakroom M211? Please advise.
Response183: 1. Door M167-3 is FE/BR door.
2. Door M195-1 to use Hardware Set 1.0. Door M210-1 is also to use Hardware Set 1.0.
3. Door Schedule issued in Amendment 4 no longer shows Door M211-1.
RFI184: In reference to drawings PSJ202 & 203, the cladding support frames. There are some bays that appear to show diagonal bracing in the framing, but are not sized or shown in any of the blow up views.
Please provide details.
Response184: Please disregard diagonal bracing.
RFI185: Please verify which details are to be used for the cladding support steel. Drawing DAE544, shows bent plates inside the profile of the tube steel framing to support the cladding attached to the outside of the framing. Detail 6/DSJ586, shows an 8mm bent plate attached to the outside of the framing. This contradicts the architectural detail in that the support bent plate is outside of the framing. The architectural drawing also provides more details at each joint in the framing, as compared to the structural.
Response185: Please follow architectural drawings for design intent.
RFI186: Main Building Drawing M AF 1 01 First Floor Plan. The Finish symbol for access floor panels is shown as VCT-1 per the finish legend but the Room numbers M110- M114 indicate RBT-2. Please clarify the correct finish as VCT or RBT.
Response186: Finish is RBT-1.
RFI187: Main Building rooms M210, 211: there are some cabinets there. The furniture plan M AE 410 sends us to drawings M AE 628 & 629 for details of those cabinets. But I did not find dwgs M AE 628 and 629 in Vol. 5 sheet index or among the pdfs drawings Vol 5. So, I think this is this a reference mistake.
Please provide the correct reference drawings for those 2 cabinets: FF-M211-1 & FF-M212-1.
Response187: FF-M211-1: reference M-AE-655 for similar details (wihtout upper cabinet above refrigerator). Willwork length is 2400mm.
FF-M212-1: reference M-AE-627 for similar lower cabinet details. Millwork is 600mm wide by 2500mm long.
RFI188: Reference is made to Drawing CAE230, Detail B2, portion of the SW wall between Column Line C5 and CXC. The detail depicts three precast panels (EWS3) from approximately Line CXC towards CXB.
This is further confirmed on Drawing CAE 103 and section A2/CAE301 and Detail D1/CAE350. Drawing CAE 230 further indicates a fence from approximately CXB.5 to C5. This is contrary to CAE 103 which shows the fence extending to Line CXC and is attached to cladding system EWS5-2 as shown in detail
B1/DAE 543.
Response188: EWS-3 ends at gridline CXB where louvers start.
RFI189: Please clarify the horizontal limits of the EWS 3 precast panel system along this portion of the wall.
Response189: Fence is not attached to pre-cast panel.
RFI190: Please provide detail of attachment of the “fence” to the precast panels if any required. Please clarify the limits of the fence.
Response190: Fence ends tangent point between CXB and CXC. Fence is co-planar with corrugated metal in EWS2-3 system above pre-cast panels.
RFI191: Reference is made to Drawing MSB-104. Column Line MT indicates there is a wall across the end of the structure. Detail 15/DSJ-577 does not show a wall. Drawing MAE-351 shows a cantilever wall to support the precast panel across this end. Further, the foundation on this sheet is not in conformity with the structural drawings. Please clarify/coordinate the structural and architectural details across Line MT.
Additional sections/details across this end would be valuable in understanding how the work needs to go together (including particularly the “recess” between the two “tails” at column lines M2.4 – M2.6).
Response191: Detail 15/DSJ-557 is cut at the footings as indicated on MSB-104. Wall Section MAE-351 is cut in between the footings. Reference Detail 10/DSJ-557 for corresponding detail which shows relationship between footing geometry and retaining wall geometry. Footing profile is also referenced in MAE351.
RFI192: Main building dwg M AE 619, 620:
elevation A1/M AE 621 show the cabinets at wall with doors only.
but plan A1/ M AE 610 and section on A3/ M AE 621 show the same cabinets as having 1 drawer above the doors.
So please let me know which one is right?
Response192: Cabinets at wall only have doors / no drawer. Cabinets at east and south have drawer above doors.
RFI193: Please clarify RFI 112 explanation as to whether or not the finishes indicated on the Finish Drawings are to be factory applied or Field applied. Specification section 096900 2.2B Floor Panel Coverings indicates that “ where carpet tile is scheduled for installation over raised flooring, provide bare panels…” . Are we to assume the same for Rubber Tile and VCT?
Response193: Yes
RFI194: Please clarify the extent of the Raised Access Floor in the Commercial Building Basement.
Drawing C AF 1 02 indicates depressed slab for the access floor in one room whereas C AF 1 00 indicates grid line for access flooring in two rooms.
Response194: Refer to C-AF-102 in Amendment 4 for raised floor extents.
RFI195: Please clarify the symbol shown on the Commercial and Main Building Finish plans that is shown in the raised access floor areas. The symbol is centered on access floor panels. As an example there are [ 25 ] symbols on the access floor Commercial Building room C 156 Drawing C AF 1 03.
Response195: Symbol is J-box in raised floor for furniture whip connection, provide single locking cover plate in floor tile, typical. Refer to corresponding electrical plans.
