Vendor Questions and Responses #2 26 May 2010
1. Reference Vendor Questions and Responses #1, 21 May 2010, Question #16. PWS 1.3.2.2 - Can we obtain the amount of salt consumed for the water softeners annually? A response was to be posted no later than noon EDST on Wednesday, 26 May 2010.
Response: Based on historical data, the approximate amount of salt consumed by the water softeners annually is 300,000 pounds (rounded up). Again, this figure is approximate and is subject to change based on varying usage requirements. The approximate break-out by Lab is as follows:
Lab 3 24,000 lbs Lab 4 30,000 lbs Lab 6 121,000 lbs Lab 7 38,000 lbs Lab 8 40,000 lbs Lab 9 46,000 lbs
2. Reference Vendor Questions and Responses #1, 21 May 2010, Question #37. During the site visit, it was stated by the Government that the Government-provided tools and equipment might not be there for our use on this contract and we should allow for the tools and equipment on our bid. Is it possible for the Government to provide a current listing of the tools and equipment provided {by} the current contractor as a reference? A response was to be posted no later than noon EDST on Wednesday, 26 May 2010.
Response: The Labs that currently provide tools specifically for use on this contract are 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9. See the attached information for specific tools provided by these labs.
However, in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and as pointed out during the 12 May 2010 site visit, it is the contractor’s responsibility to provide all tools required for performance of this contract. The Government-provided tools are available for use currently. At any time their use could be revoked and it would remain the contractor's responsibility to provide the tools required to accomplish the work in the PWS.
