About this file
This is a Data Item Description (DID) document that establishes requirements for First Article Qualification Test Plans and Procedures (DI-NDTI-81307A). The document provides format and content preparation instructions for contractors to develop test procedures, test equipment specifications, and inspection criteria for first article qualification testing.
The DID requires test plans to include: purpose of test, applicable documents, description of units to be tested, and detailed test descriptions with step-by-step procedures for operators. Plans must define required readings, equipment settings, and descriptions of test equipment including commercial identification. Additionally, contractors must provide drawings/schematics of noncommercial test fixtures and establish inspection criteria defining minimum performance requirements, including worst-case power inputs, signal levels, and timing parameters that units must meet for government acceptance. The document specifies that while the overall format is at the contractor's discretion, these content elements are mandatory for compliance.
