QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
FOR
BASE ROOFING IDIQ
AT
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, ALASKA
SOLICITATION NO. FA5004-09-R-C001
It shall be noted to all interested parties that the following questions have been received in writing regarding the subject acquisition. Responses to these questions are given below.
As a reminder, it is the responsibility of all Interested Parties to review this website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) frequently for any updates and/or amendments to any and all subject documents.
Question:
Specifications (revised_23_Jan) section 07530 2.2 says:
a. Manufacturer's Warranty: Submit executed copy of single-ply membrane manufacturer's "Limited Service Warranty" agreement including flashing endorsement, signed by an authorized representative of manufacturer. Warranty Period: see SECTION 01400.
There is not a Section 01400 in the specifications. I was not able to find any requirement for extended manufacturer’s warranty for any roof system.
Response:
See Amendment 0002
Question:
Specifications (revised_23_Jan) section 07650 10.5 says:
a. Copings: Fabricate from the following material:
i. Aluminum: 0.050 inch thick.
ii. Galvanized Steel: 0.0396 inch thick.
iii. Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated Steel: 0.0396 inch thick.
.0396 is 20 Ga. Pre-finished 20 Ga. does not come in standard colors. Therefore pricing would be for custom color with minimum quantities. This makes the price prohibitive. Would the Government consider 24 Ga. which is available in a wide variety of colors?
Response:
24 Ga. is NOT acceptable. It has been determined that 24Ga. does not have the load bearing compacity necessary to stand up to the potential loads of wind, snow, or workers. 20 Ga. will remain the Eielson AFB standard.
