Laboratory Analysis Report for Soil Sampling at Shaw AFB
This document is a laboratory analysis report from Pace Analytical Services, LLC, detailing soil sampling results collected at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina on June 11, 2026. Emerald, Inc., a consulting and engineering firm specializing in environmental affairs, collected five soil samples (SB-1 through SB-5) from locations surrounding Base Water Tower 4 at depths ranging from 3-6 inches to 12-18 inches. Samples were analyzed for total lead using EPA Method 6010D and TCLP (toxicity characteristic leaching procedure) metals using EPA Method 6010D TCLP, with mercury analysis performed using EPA Method 7470A TCLP. Total solids were determined using SM 2540G methodology.
Analysis results indicate lead concentrations ranging from 0.654 mg/kg to 65.8 mg/kg across the five samples, with sample SB-1 (3-6" depth) showing the highest lead level at 65.8 mg/kg. All samples tested for barium, chromium, and other metals under TCLP analysis; most results were non-detect (ND). Total solids content ranged from 89.6% to 97.5% across samples. The laboratory report includes quality control data, certifications from Pace Analytical Services National across multiple states, sample summary information, analytical results presented on a dry weight basis adjusted for percent moisture, and chain of custody documentation. The report was completed on June 25, 2026, with analysis dates on June 21-26, 2026, and addressed to Chad McClary at Emerald, Inc.
