About this file
This is a Fire Hydrant Flow Test report documenting water system performance for Building 464 repair project conducted by ADC Engineering. The test was performed on two fire hydrants connected to 6-inch diameter water mains to assess static pressure, residual pressure, and flow capacity for fire suppression system design purposes.
Test No. 1 yielded complete results showing a static pressure of 62 psi and residual pressure of 53 psi. Flow Hydrant No. 1 delivered 950 gpm total flow (475 gpm from each of two nozzles at 8 psi differential), while Flow Hydrant No. 2 produced 0 gpm, indicating insufficient pressure or supply at that location. The calculated Q20 flow rate (flow at 20 psi residual pressure) was 2,182 gpm. Test No. 2 was not completed, showing zero values across all parameters. Testing equipment consisted of a HydrantPro Diffuser with flared barrel (HYDPRO160 from Pollard Water) featuring a 2.50-inch outlet diameter and 0.90 discharge coefficient. Personnel performing and witnessing the test included Greg Jones and Hanna McKool of ADC Engineering and ADC, respectively. Site plans on pages 2-3 identify the specific locations of the residual hydrant and flow hydrant relative to Building 464 and the campus water distribution network.
