CE Response: Temporary covers to protect trays during all demolition and construction. All trays in attic are subject to protection. Means and methods are contractors’ responsibility. There is approximately 1432 feet of 30”W x 4”D aluminum ladder tray per building that the contractor will be responsible for if damaged.
12 All “E” drawings have Key note 10 but the device is only shown on E102 (B wing). I assume this is the only wing that gets these unit emergency shut-offs and all units are controlled through A/C systems controls? Are all units per floor controlled by 1 E-stop per floor (3 total) or do they each get 1
(4 per floor making 12 total)?
CE Response: Yes. B- Wing on E102 is the only wing with an emergency shutoff and yes, all units are controlled through A/C systems controls. However the contractor shall install one button for each floor in the center core for a total of 3 buttons. Sheet E102 indicates where the E-Stop buttons will be approximately located on all floors beneath the attic. And no, activation of any E-
Stop shall de-energize all air handlers in the entire building as indicated on Sheet M005.

20 I do not see where any coil coating is specified and believe this will be required for Goose Creek as a coastal area.
CE Response: AHU coil coating is not required as there are filtered ERM’s supplying OA to the AHU’s.
21 Will Test & Balance of each building require us to re-check the units within the suites? (Both airside & waterside) Specs say to “test each system as a whole” but that is somewhat vague. We do not know if the existing VAV’s in the suites are electric re-heat or hot water. If electric, we will only need to check airside.
CE Response: TAB of systems below the attic is not required. A full TAB of all the supply, return, outside air, and exhaust duct system leaving or entering the attic is required for existing and new.
22 Parking – how many vehicles will be allowed on the site each day or how much space is available for parking.

25 Please clarify whether the dormitories will be occupied during the renovation and will temporary air be required?
CE Response: The individual wing will be vacated one at a time. No temporary air will be required for that vacated wing.
26 The instructions indicate that work in one wing will be completed prior to starting work in another. Is this for one building only or can a wing in each building be worked on concurrently?
CE Response: CE Response: The lapse in time between each wing shall be no more than 7 days after acceptance of the wing being worked before contractor will be given the next wing. The spec section 01 14 00, para. 1.2.6 is to be clarified to mean 1 building and 1 wing will be worked at any one time.
27 Does the phasing of each wing apply to the mechanical work only or to the exterior wall, louvers, and roofing work as well?
CE Response: Any work on an occupied wing of a building that does not affect the conditioned air in that occupied wing or personnel safety will be authorized at the CO’s discretion on a case by case basis. Request for work outside the designated unoccupied wing must be submitted 14 days in advanced.
28 Is it a requirement that all silt fence shown on the site plans be installed even if these areas will not be entered, used, or impacted by construction operations?
