About this file

This document is a detailed Agency Specific Requirements file for a VA Primary Care Clinic project in Grand Junction, Colorado, providing comprehensive design and room layout specifications. The file includes extensive technical requirements for room design, covering architectural and interior design parameters, telecommunications systems, power specifications, HVAC configurations, and security measures for various clinic spaces. Key design specifications include dropped acoustic tile ceilings at 9-foot heights, gypsum wall board construction, specific floor finishes like luxury vinyl tile, sound transmission requirements, door and lock specifications, and precise environmental control parameters such as temperature (70-75 degrees F), humidity (30-60% relative), and minimum air change rates. The document also outlines critical security features like card access control, surveillance systems, intrusion detection, and specific requirements for perimeter doors and critical area access control.

The design criteria matrix covers 28 different room types within the clinic, including reception areas, exam rooms, telehealth rooms, laboratory spaces, utility rooms, and administrative areas. Each room type has meticulously defined specifications for ceiling type, wall construction, floor finish, door characteristics, telecommunications requirements, power needs, plumbing provisions, and HVAC configurations. Notable security and operational requirements include maintaining ADA accessibility, implementing sound-dampening architectural techniques, providing flexible room configurations for clinical workflows, and ensuring comprehensive electronic and physical security measures throughout the facility. The document serves as a comprehensive technical guide for designing a modern, secure, and functionally efficient VA primary care clinic.
