About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document issued by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) regarding a First Floor Restroom Renovation project located in Fort Worth. The project involves renovation work on restroom facilities, with a pre-bid walkthrough and pre-proposal conference scheduled for January 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The document confirms that no city permits are required for the work, and the design team and TWC will conduct occasional site observations during construction. Key specifications for the project include the use of natural birch veneer for doors, fully welded door frames only (knockdown frames are unacceptable), and the requirement that project superintendents remain onsite at all times while workers are present.
The document addresses operational and logistical considerations for bidders, including site access for equipment such as 15-yard roll-off dumpsters and 20-foot Conex containers. Fire alarm systems will require protective covering during construction to prevent accidental activation from dust or soldering activities, but the alarms will not be placed in test mode. The incumbent fire alarm service provider is MCA, with contact information provided for the Service Manager. TWC does not disclose budget information for open procurements, and bidders should refer to Addendum 1 (posted January 13, 2026) for updates to the project schedule and events.
