About this file
The ENG Form 6282 is a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) Designation Letter used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to document safety personnel qualifications for federal contracts. The form requires detailed documentation of the designated safety officer's training, experience, and competency, including OSHA 30-hour certification, 24 hours of safety-related training within the past five years, and 3-5 years of cumulative safety experience managing safety programs. There are three levels of SSHO designation (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) with progressively more stringent experience requirements, and the form must be signed by the company's Safety & Occupational Health program official and the designated SSHO, then submitted to the Contracting Officer as part of the Accident Prevention Plan.
