About this file
This is a Drug-Free Workplace Program Certification document required by the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida, for the West Sunset Lift Station project. The certification requires bidders to demonstrate implementation of a comprehensive drug-free workplace program as a condition of contract eligibility. Bidders must publish a workplace policy prohibiting unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances; inform employees of drug abuse dangers and available counseling and rehabilitation resources; distribute the policy statement to all employees engaged in providing commodities or contractual services under the contract; require employees to notify the employer within five days of any conviction or guilty plea related to controlled substance violations under Florida Statutes Chapter 893 or federal/state controlled substance laws occurring in the workplace; and impose sanctions or require participation in drug abuse assistance programs for employees with convictions.
The certification requires the authorized signatory to attest that the firm complies fully with all specified requirements and commits to making a good faith effort to maintain a drug-free workplace through ongoing implementation of the program. No pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or other financial terms are addressed in this certification document, which serves solely as a compliance and eligibility requirement for bidders on the Okaloosa County lift station replacement project.
