About this file

This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for a Technical Data Package (TDP) with the document number DI-SESS-80776B, approved on August 1, 2019. The DID provides comprehensive guidelines for creating a technical description of an item that supports acquisition, production, inspection, engineering, and logistics processes. It specifies the required content and format for technical documentation, which must align with MIL-STD-31000B standards.

The Technical Data Package must include various engineering design data elements such as conceptual, developmental, product, and commercial design data. Specific required details include unique processes, performance ratings, dimensional and tolerance data, critical manufacturing processes, mechanical and electrical connections, material identification, inspection criteria, quality assurance requirements, hardware marking requirements, certification details, software programming instructions, and special consideration items. The document supersedes the previous version DI-SESS-80776A and is intended to ensure clear, complete, and accurate technical documentation for government contracts.
