October 25, 2022

I. Project Description Title: PH22PH01H6, PIMC M&I Renovations

Purpose: Complete a number of maintenance and improvement (M&I) projects on the PIMC campus, including within the main hospital building and the surrounding clinics.

Location: Phoenix Indian Medical Center, 4212 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016

II. Background Several areas in PIMC require maintenance to replace old equipment and furnishings, as well as address code deficiencies. The Emergency Department waiting room was expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic, and requires HVAC upgrades to ensure the new patient area is code compliant.

Upgrades are also to be made to the cooling and ventilation systems serving the Central Supply Room to achieve temperature and pressure relationship code compliance. Old cabinetry and countertops in the microbiology lab and the 3rd floor nurse’s station are being replaced with updated materials and layouts to improve cleanliness and workflow. The roof of the Dental Annex building is being replaced to address numerous leaks. The existing standard response fire sprinkler pendants are being upgraded to quick response pendants. The hospital will also receive a building-wide 20 year inspection. Additionally, the existing fire alarm panel and control software is being replaced with new, more user friendly and intuitive equipment.

The purpose of this project is for the completion of a number of maintenance and improvement (M&I) projects on the PIMC campus with an overall effort to address code compliance as well as improve general safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
