About this file
This is a technical drawings attachment for EIC ESR D2 Dipole Magnets as part of a pre-solicitation RFI/Sources Sought notice issued by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory under the U.S. Department of Energy. The attachment contains technical drawings for 195 EIC ESR D2 Dipole Magnets that are currently undergoing approval and will be included in the competitive solicitation. These drawings are supplementary documentation to the technical specifications outlined in Attachment D (Doc. No. EIC-MSG-SPC-009, dated February 4, 2026) and the Statement of Work in Attachment B (Doc. No. EIC-MSG-SOW-018, dated February 4, 2026). The D2 magnets are components of the Electron Ion Collider (EIC), a nuclear physics facility designed to create intense beams of relativistic energy electrons and ions in opposing particle storage rings for collision experimentation.
This pre-solicitation notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment by the U.S. Government or an obligation to pay for information received. The Department of Energy Office of Basic Energy Sciences is using this RFI to survey available resources and supplier capabilities. No formal Request for Proposal currently exists, and no response date, award date, or pricing terms are applicable at this stage. Interested suppliers should review the accompanying technical specifications and statements of work to assess their capability to manufacture the required dipole magnets, with the expectation that a formal competitive solicitation will follow.
