Is washed to be free of all organics, silt, and clay contaminants. Has a pH of less than 7.0, is non-reactive to acid rain, non-effervescent to 10% HCI. Has a percolation or water filtration rate greater than thirty

(30) inches per hour. Meets ASTM F355, ASTM F1292, CAN/CSA Z614 specifications.

Additionally, all sand surfaces shall be maintained to have a minimum depth of four inches (4”) unless otherwise specified in this section.

Rubber shall be free of metal content: <.01% (Wire Free) ASTM 5603. All tire rubber covered surfaces shall be maintained to have a minimum depth of two inches (2”) unless otherwise specified in this section.

d. OTHER COURSE MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT. Ropes shall be maintained and replaced when they are no longer capable of being adjusted to the heights, lengths, and distances specified for each apparatus, or when they are worn and no longer capable of retaining required tensions, or safe for use. Canvas on course walls shall remain free of any defects, tears or excessively worn areas, and shall be replaced when defects appear.

e. PAINTING. Painting of course apparatuses shall be accomplished when faded or peeling/chipping occurs. Surfaces requiring painting shall be painted with like colors and clearly marked as specified in this section.

e. HIGH ROPES shall be maintained at a height of no lower than ten feet, six inches (10’6”) from the ground to the center of the rope, and tensioned at center mass so sag is not more than three inches (3”) when tested with a twenty pound (20 lb.) hanging weight (if the rope sags past four (4”) inches re-tension to 3”;

f. SERPENTINE SAND area shall be maintained at a sand depth of three (3) inches,

g. BALANCE BEAM OBSTACLE shall be maintained at two feet (2’) from the ground to top of the beam. This beam shall be painted red, twelve inches (12”) from each end;
