About this file

This Scope of Work details a construction project for the FAA's eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) Procedures and Analysis Range (VPAR) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The project involves constructing a new 5,364 square foot vehicle weather shelter, a 1,315 square foot support building, and 38,100 square foot taxi and touchdown/lift-off areas, with related site improvements. Construction work includes site demolition, grading, soil preparation, street extension, paving, electrical infrastructure, utilities, concrete foundations, structural steel, building envelope, doors, windows, interior finishes, equipment installation, signage, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical power and lighting, fire alarm, telecom, and lightning protection systems.

The contract has a duration of 425 calendar days, with the contractor required to coordinate closely with the FAA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) throughout the project. Key requirements include providing seven days' notice for submittals and system start-ups, maintaining on-site supervision, and adhering to environmental guidelines such as diverting a minimum of 50% of non-hazardous waste from landfills. The construction site is located on the north side of McLucas Street, east of Shaffer Street and west of Halaby Drive, within an operating environment that will require careful coordination to minimize disruptions to ongoing FAA operations.
