AMENDMENT NO. 4

Amendment No. 4 is hereby issued to respond to the following RFI’s:

10. As per drawing CI 101, the existing fence footing will remain. As per drawing AD-111, the existing fence footing shall be removed. Please advise.

Response: Follow details per CI-101.

11. Drawing CI 101 refers to drawing SS 100 for fence footing information. Drawing SS 100 could not be found on bid documents.

Response: See attached drawing “SS-100 – Addendum 3”

12. As per drawings, existing sidewalks, curbs, gutters shall be repair as needed. Please confirm that the repair work shall be performed to the existing areas affected during construction work and that the existing sidewalks, curbs, gutter, asphalt not affected during construction will remain as is.

Response: Confirmed.

13. Drawing E-120 Information regarding safety switches, combination starters and manual starters is missing (amps, poles, voltage, size, enclosure type).

Response: Requested information is provided on drawing E-721 as noted in general note #4 of drawing E-120.

14. Drawing E-601 Please advise insulation type of cable for underground emergency feeders (3 sets

4#500MCM-1#2 gnd) at Rainforest Kids Child Development Center.

Response: Requested information is provided in Spec Section 260519 Par 3.2.

15. Drawing E-140.7 Please advise insulation type of cable for underground feeder (4#1/0-1#6 gnd.

in 2”C) from EP-MEC-FOW-B-1 panel to TFR 45KVA transformer/Panel P at generator building.

Response: Requested information is provided in Spec Section 260519 Par 3.2.

16. Drawing E-642.7 Please confirm emergency generator #2 pitch.

Response: Pitch is 2/3 pitch (0.667).

17. Drawing E-642.7 Specify existing paralleling mode of emergency generators (Droop Mode?).

Response: Existing paralleling is droop mode. New mode will be isochronous.

18. Will other manufacturer than Caterpillar emergency generator will be considered?

Response: Existing 15kv generators are Caterpillar and Caterpillar is basis of design. Other generator manufacturers will be considered if they meet requirements listed in contract documents and can integrate controls with existing to remain Caterpillar generator.

19. Drawing E-142.7 Please advise if ground cables taps (for doors, louvres windows, emergency generators and mufflers) from main cable 4/0 can be done with compression connectors or exothermic connection will be required.

Response: Compression C-taps are acceptable for grounding extension to doors, louvers, new enclosure. Generators and ground ring extension shall be exothermic.

20. Drawing E-101 Detail 2 Please indicate ground cable gauge for ground ring at Rainforest Kids Child Development Center emergency generator and tank area.

Response: Requested information is provided on E-501 as noted on E-101 "Grounding System Notes” #10.

21. Drawing E-151 Key notes 1 & 2 Please indicate how streams of solar array are connected to calculate the number of conductors clamps needed.

Response: Notes indicate quantity of clamps required at each array panel and between array panels.

22. Drawing E-151 Key note 4 Please advise number of conductors and gauge of “18” long shielded signal cable”.

Response: Provide for 50 - #14 AWG conductors. This is to be coordinated with SunLink.

23. Drawing E-151 Key note 4 Please indicate brand and model of “wind vane” to be replaced.

Response: Existing Wind vane was provided and installed by SunLink.

24. Please indicate the equipment to be included in the Short-Circuit and Coordination Studies.

Response: Refer to Spec Section 260573.13 par 3.2.E. and Spec Section 260573.16 par 3.3.E.

Begin analysis at the service and extend down to new OCPD/Panel.

25. As per drawing A-420 / DP-1, 2ea new stair will be installed over the new flood wall. Please provide stair details.

Response: Stairs over the 1’ high containment wall are not required.

26. As per drawing AD-101 – Note 10, all interior gypsum board displaying water damage shall be removed, asses for mold, and new gypsum board installed. Please provide the location of the existing gypsum board with water damage.

Response: Water damaged Gypsum wall board is shown on plan AD-101 with tags #5 & #6 and on elevations 3/A-203. 2/A-208, 8/A-209. See tag call outs for specific areas of interior water damaged GWB to be replaced.

27. As per drawing AD-102 – Note 9, the existing mechanical ducting on roof shall be replaced in kind. Please provide existing duct specifications.

Response: Information is provided in mechanical specifications

28. As per drawing A-101 – Note 7, exterior metal gates shall be repainted/refinished. Please provide the existing gates specifications.

Response: The existing gates are approx. (2438mm) 8 ft high with (19mm x 19mm ) 3/ 4” vertical pickets spaced at (102mm) 4” O.C. Paint with exterior grade paint to match existing in color.

29. As per drawing AD-102 – Note 4, any rust present on purlings/beams and columns shall be mechanically removed. Please provide rust location.

Response: Rust at Purlins and beams are sporadically located. Most rust occurs at playground corridor Columns. Beams at corridor are W 12 x 30s. Purlins are approximately W 6 X 12s running Perpendicular to the roof slope. Assume 5% of all existing beams/purlins steel surface area has rust. See Building Sections & Interior Elevations for number of purlins. See also Details 2/5/8 on A-502

30. As per drawing G-003 – Note 40, all existing furniture shall be removed, protected and stored during construction phase. Please provide existing furniture manifest with the items to be stored offsite.

Response: Due to the continuous relocation of furniture this information can’t be provided. Please note this includes that the contractor is responsible of mobilizing, storing in a storage place out of the Federal Office building Facilities and relocating back at the original location. External storage shall comply with the latest Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service (P-100).

31. As per drawing A-102, mechanical equipment on roof shall dismantled, stored, and reintalled.

Please confirm that temperarute/humidity shall be maintained with temporary measures after mechanical equipment removal.

Response: Confirmed.

32. As per drawing AD-121, existing glass panels shall be removed as required to remove elevator call buttons. Please provide existing glass specifications and mounting details.

Response: Not available at this time. Contractor will be responsible to verify on site.

33. Please provide make and model for the all new electrical control panelboard, shown on drawing E-643.

Response: Control switchboard shall be assembled to meet the control requirements indicated in specification section 262313. The existing switchboard was assembled by CCI.

34. Please provide final location for the all control panelboard, shown on drawing E-643.

Response: See sheet E-140.

35. Please confirm if Sunlink will provide the thru bolts and plate washers along with the “Z” clamps arm for the solar array panels repair, if not, provide information for the materials.

Response: Refer to S-002 "Solar Array Fasteners" for more information on bolts, washers, etc. Z clamp arms are to be 4" x 7 gauge or equal approved by Sunlink and GSA.

36. Please provide information from Sunlink local representative for coordination purposes.

Response: It is the contractor’s responsibility to find contact information.

37. Please provide a technical specification for the pavement marking lines.

Response: See attached new specification “321723 – Painted Pavement Markings – Addendum 3”

38. As per specification 14 21 23, Section 2.4.N.2, a remote car operating panel (RCOP) shall be provided for each elevator in the Control Room. Please provide Control Room location.

Response: RCOP would be located in the security control room, typically where the security guards are located. GSA to provide this location.

39. As per specification 14 21 23, Section 2.11.N, a desk type interactive computer-based Elevator Management Information System (EMIS) shall be provided for all traction elevators. Please provide the location where the EMIS desktop PC will be installed.

Response: This system can be located ether in the elevator machine room, fire command room, security area or management office. Typically the elevator machine room will be the location.

This will be subject to GSA approval.

The date and time for receipt of proposals remains unchanged.
