About this file
This is Solicitation Addendum No. 3 for ITB 25-0014 issued by the Beaverton School District for the Aloha High School Athletic Facility project. The addendum modifies the original Invitation to Bid by providing clarifications, revisions, and answers to contractor questions regarding the construction of a pre-fabricated metal softball batting facility and the addition/remodel of the stadium concessions building. Key revisions include removal of FM Global roof standards, updating roof panel specifications from 26 gauge to a specification determined by the PEMB supplier, changing gutters from galvanized to painted, reducing the warranty period for Kynar paint finish from 35 years to 25 years, and clarifying that both purlins and open web joists will depend on PEMB supplier design. The addendum addresses standing seam roof panel specifications and weathertightness warranty requirements, confirms existing gravel base will be removed for new base rock installation, specifies ADA grate requirements for pedestrian circulation areas, clarifies that building colors should match the adjacent dugout, and directs that the storage container be removed and saved for relocation. Additional clarifications confirm that surveyors are subject to prevailing wage requirements, no water heater replacement is included in the concession stand scope, and the contractor is responsible for all permits and plan reviews. The bid closing date is December 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time.
The specification Section 13 34 19 for Metal Building Systems establishes design standards based on AISC, AISI, AWS, ASTM, and Metal Building Manufacturers Association guidelines, with structural design per ANSI/AISC 360 ASD method. The acceptable manufacturer for basis of design is Nucor Building Systems, with substitutions permitted. Primary framing components include rigid frames fabricated as welded built-up or hot-rolled sections with materials conforming to ASTM A36, A572, or A992 specifications. Secondary framing consists of cold-formed Z-section purlins and girts, with specifications for eave struts, base framing, and open-web roof joists per Steel Joist Institute standards. Roof panels specified are Nucor LocSeam Vertical Rib Standing Seam with minimum 22 gauge, 16-inch width coverage, and full-length slopes without horizontal lapped joints. Wall panels are specified as R-Panel with semi-concealed fasteners, 1.25-inch ribs at 12-inch spacing, minimum 24 gauge, and 36-inch width. Paint systems include Modified Siliconized Polyester for 25-year finish warranty on both roof and wall panels, with colors as specified on drawings. Fabrication requirements mandate shop fabrication with field bolted connections per ASTM F3125, and erection must comply with MBMA Metal Building Systems Manual standards. Quality assurance requires a single IAS AC 472 Accredited Manufacturer with minimum five years' experience and a single installer with minimum five years' demonstrated experience. Warranty coverage includes the manufacturer's standard one-year warranty for the metal building system excluding paint, a 25-year weathertightness warranty for standing seam roof panels, and a 25-year paint finish warranty against chipping, peeling, blistering, fading, and chalking. All prevailing wage requirements apply to this public improvement project exceeding $50,000, with liquidated damages assessed at $100 per day for failure to achieve substantial completion.
