About this file
This Solicitation Addendum No. 2 issued by the Beaverton School District's Business Services Procurement and Contracting office modifies the Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-0014 for the Aloha High School Athletic Facility project. The addendum addresses critical clarifications and revisions to the bidding documents for construction of a pre-fabricated metal batting cage and stadium concessions building expansion. Key modifications include specification updates for roof panel materials (clarifying Standard Seam metal roofing with mandatory weathertightness warranty), confirmation that the artificial turf substrate will be a 4-inch concrete slab on grade rather than crushed gravel, relocation of existing electrical panels to the north side of the building, correction of keynote references on floor plans, minor grading adjustments to ensure positive drainage with additional spot elevation call-outs, and clarification of handrail details and stair nosing specifications. The addendum confirms that Facility Permit drawings and public plan sets are included with the bid documents and provides additional slope information to resolve drainage concerns. The revised bid closing date remains December 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time, and bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bidder Certification form or risk bid rejection.
The addendum approves multiple Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) manufacturers and door suppliers for substitution, including Web Steel Buildings NW, Butler Manufacturing, American Buildings Company, Star Building Systems, Metallic Building Company, and Varco Pruden for structural systems, as well as Bradley Toilet Accessories and Wayne Dalton Overhead Door for specialty products. The project construction budget is established at $1.6 million. Facility Permit Drawings are provided as attachments to support the public improvements at the SW Madeline Street entrance. All other original ITB requirements remain in full force and effect unless specifically modified by this addendum, and failure to acknowledge this addendum or comply with its requirements may result in bid rejection.

QUESTION:
ANSWER:
There are two different conflicting specifications for the roof panels on the PEMB batting cage. 13 34 19 Paragraph C (panels), line #2 that SSR must have: 50% min alum-zinc allow- coating and 13 34 19 1.8 paragraph B SSR weathertightness warranty is optional. 2.5 Roof panel: A through fastened roof with 1 ¼ ribs at 12 inches oc. 26ga.
Please clarify standing seam roof system or a panel rib roof (through fastened roof).
Specification Section 13 34 19 has been updated to specify only Standard Seam metal roofing and remove “optional” for the Warranty.
There is a conflict for the substrate for the artificial turf in the new batting cage building. Keynote 6 on sheet A301 calls out “Artificial Turf over Compacted Crushed Gravel base per manufacturers recommendation” and Structural Sheets call for 4” Slab-on-grade w/#3 at 18” OC EA Way” (S102,S501).
A 4” concrete slab will be used, per Structural. Sheet A201 and A301 have been updated.
Per the attached markup, can you please confirm that the existing electrical panels and transformer shown as south of the new building on the plans are in actuality north of the new building?
Drawing E1.1 has been revised to move existing electrical panels to the north side.
Specification 9/A201 Note 8 refers to Artificial Turf. However, there are no note 8 call outs on the floor plan. Please confirm Note 9 between B and C should have been intended to be Note 8.
Keynote 8 has been updated and keynote 9 has been changed to keynote 8 on the floor plan.
QUESTION: Specification 1/C070 Spot elevations appear to have water sitting. With 7.2% and 1.3% coming together I don’t see the water leaving at this location. 5.4% is shown but cant seem to get the grades to work at this location. Please provide more spot elevations to confirm proper drainage at this location
ANSWER: Minor grading adjustments have been made to create positive drainage. For design clarity, additional spot/slope call outs have been added.
QUESTION: Specification C070 At the site entrance off SW Madeline Street the plan references "Public Improvements. See Facility Permit". These sheets are not provided and are needed to define limits of new pavement section to install into the site.
ANSWER: See public plan set provided with bid documents.
QUESTION: Specification 5/C501 Detail 5 on C501 provides a detail for the handrail yet the site plan appears to show this handrail return back to the building. Please update drawing accordingly to capture the return to the building and encompassing the 1 step shown on the drawings.
ANSWER: Detail updated to clarify building/railing interaction.
QUESTION: 5/C501 Detail 5 shows the baseplate 6" wide. This is the same width of the concrete curb it attaches
to. Graphically in the detail it shows it not the same width. Please confirm intent.
ANSWER: The 6" wide baseplate and 6" curb are intended to be the same width.
QUESTION: Spec 6/C501 No spec is provided for contrast nosing at stairs. Detail reference coordinate with Architect. Please provide product for bidding purposes
ANSWER: Contrast stair nosing not intended. Safey nosing running parallel to tread, per detail, is to be provided.
QUESTION: Was an engineers estimate prepared for this project? If so, can it please be shared. If not, what is the expected construction budget?
ANSWER: The construction budget is $1.6M.
