About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 to the bidding documents for Bid #9 HEMV 2026-2027 Pool Facility Renovation at Kennedy Memorial Park, issued by H2M architects + engineers on behalf of the Incorporated Village of Hempstead, New York. The addendum modifies the original July 2026 bidding documents and must be acknowledged by all bidders upon submission of their proposals, with failure to acknowledge potentially resulting in disqualification. The project involves the renovation of the pool facility at Kennedy Memorial Park and includes revisions to construction drawings, specifically replacing a single leaf access hatch with a double leaf access hatch on drawing XS 500.01 with updated dimensions for clarity.

The addendum provides critical clarifications regarding the phasing and construction schedule to maintain operational pool facilities during the renovation. Phase 1 includes demolition of an existing one-story frame garage and all items south of the southern fence but excludes demolition of existing pools or bathhouse; during this phase, construction of the new bathhouse and filter building may begin with the contractor required to provide temporary fencing and safety measures around the operational pool area. Construction on the bathhouse and filter building may continue during the 2027 pool season while existing pools and bathhouse remain operational, with the existing wading pool taken out of service due to proximity to the proposed bathhouse. Following the 2027 season, remaining demolition and construction of new pools, spray pad, and drainage infrastructure will occur. The addendum clarifies that site furniture items listed on sheet CS 100 shall be furnished under the Furniture Allowance except those noted as Contract X, and specifies that the Bid Proposal for Contract X does not need to include an alternate pool bid.

ADDENDUM NO. 2

Bid #9 HEMV 2026-2027

POOL FACILITY RENOVATION AT KENNEDY

MEMORIAL PARK

H2M PROJECT NO.: HEMV2502

30 July 2026

NOTE: This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents for the above project and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated July 2026. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the Addendum on the appropriate pages of the proposal sheet(s) when submitting their bid proposal. Failure to acknowledge the Addendum may subject the Bidder to disqualification.

Bidders:

Except as modified herein, all other requirements of the Contract Documents shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

1. REVISED DRAWING

XS 500.01 – Replaced single leaf access hatch with double leaf access hatch. Revised callout related to the new access hatch size and added in dimension for clarity.

2. CLARIFICATIONS

1. For the Add/Deduct Phasing. Phase 1 shall include demolishment of the existing one story frame garage, and all items south of the southern fence. This will not include any demolishment of existing pools or the existing bathhouse. During Phase 1, the construction of the new bathhouse and filter building can begin such that the contractor shall provide and maintain temporary fencing and other measures for the protection and safety of the public pool in and around the pool area during Phase 1. During the 2027 pool season, construction on the new bathhouse and filter building can continue while the existing pools and existing bathhouse remain in service. The existing wading pool can be taken out of service due to proximity to proposed bathhouse. Following the end of the 2027 pool season, all other demolishment can take place (existing pools, existing bathhouse, existing site utilities) and the construction of the new pools, spray pad, drainage and pool site utilities can be done. This is included to ensure the Village does not lose an operable summer given the understanding that the base bid is an expedited schedule.

2. Site Furniture listed on the table on sheet CS 100 should be furnished as part of the Furniture Allowance. Only the items in this table that are noted as Contract X will not be under the allowance and will be furnished by Contract X.

3. Bid Proposal for Contract X does not need to include the alternate pool bid.

3. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Receipt of this Addendum No. 2 shall be acknowledged by all bidders in their proposal submission.
