About this file
This specification document outlines the requirements for exercise equipment maintenance and repair services for Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, covering facilities at the Adult Detention Center (ADC) and Sheriff's Office Administration Building (SOAB). The County seeks a contractor to provide quarterly preventative maintenance inspections and minor adjustments on fitness machines, with additional on-demand repair services authorized through purchase orders. All maintenance and repair work must be performed between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, unless otherwise requested by the County. Repairs requested outside the regular maintenance schedule must be accommodated within five business days. The contractor is required to submit Security Access Applications for all personnel requiring jail facility access prior to work commencement, and access will be denied to individuals without approved applications.
The specification requires bidders to demonstrate at least three years of professional experience servicing and repairing a minimum of 15 similar exercise equipment brands from a provided list that includes Life Fitness, Cybex, Hammer Strength, Precor, Star Trac, and 20 additional manufacturers. The contractor must maintain a service facility within 60 miles of Salt Lake County and supply all necessary parts for repairs. All parts must be new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) products; non-OEM or used parts require prior written approval from the Sheriff's Office Jail Facility Management Division. Repairs are priced on an hourly rate basis plus parts, with firm cost quotes requiring written purchase order approval before work begins. Part pricing must be FOB Destination with freight prepaid and all-inclusive costs. If repair costs approach or exceed equipment replacement costs, the contractor must immediately cease work and notify management. Salt Lake County's Terms and Conditions will govern the contract, superseding any conflicting bidder terms.
