About this file
This document is a Solution Summary Submission Template for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program. The template prescribes specific formatting requirements (11-point font, minimum 0.5-inch margins, PDF conversion) and establishes a maximum length of 4 pages for the core solution summary content, with additional allowances for feasibility and commercialization statements. Applicants must address five primary components: a project overview and technology description, proposed technical solution with challenges and innovations, key activities and milestones, relevance to the topic area, and technical merit and technical novelty criteria as specified in the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). The cover page requires applicant and organization information, including UEI and partner organization details, along with specification of whether the application is for Phase I, Direct to Phase II, or Fast Track and whether it is SBIR or STTR.
For Direct-to-Phase II applicants, an additional feasibility statement (up to 1 page) is mandatory and must address the scientific basis and provide evidence of project success from literature or prior work. Direct-to-Phase II and Fast-Track applicants must also include a commercialization plan statement (up to 1 page) describing commercialization strategy, target customers/markets/buyers, and anticipated transition challenges. This is a template document only; it does not specify pricing terms, response dates, or award information, as those details appear in the related BAA and Broad Agency Announcement materials.
