About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for United States Coast Guard solicitation 70Z03826QS0000014, with answers provided on August 31, 2026.
The document addresses a single clarification question regarding the scope of exterior wall cleaning work for Building 63. The questioner sought clarification on whether gable-end surfaces above the 20-foot height should be included in the exterior wall cleaning scope, given that the listed square footage (46,080 SF) appears to be calculated as perimeter (2,304 LF) multiplied by the stated 20-foot height. The USCG confirmed that gable-end areas are included in the exterior wall cleaning scope if they constitute exterior wall surfaces. The agency emphasized that removal of the roof cleaning requirement does not exclude elevated exterior wall surfaces, including gable-end wall areas. The response notes that all previously provided height, access, and square footage figures were rough estimates and must be field confirmed by the contractor. This clarification establishes that the contractor bears responsibility for verifying actual dimensions and scope requirements on-site.

Number Question USCG Response
1 The listed 46,080 SF for Building 63 equals the 2,304 LF perimeter multiplied by the stated 20-foot height. Does the exterior wall cleaning scope also include the gable-end surfaces above the 20-foot height?
See the answer to Question 2 that was posted on August 25, 2026. “Yes, if the gable-end areas are exterior wall surfaces, they remain part of the exterior wall cleaning scope. Removal of the roof cleaning requirement does not remove elevated exterior wall surfaces, including gable-end wall areas. Any height, access, and square footage figures previously provided were rough estimates and must be field confirmed by the contractor.”
